Mission: Implausible!, Director

is an interactive solo comedy show, conceived and written by Sandi Carroll, directed by Mike Long.  It utilizes Facebook, Twitter, and Skype to engage the audience in our heroine’s effort to save the world.  Audience members contribute their intelligence to help save the day, and one lucky man is chosen to be our heroine’s hero and spends most of the show onstage with Agent Karen having his courage and humanity proven in surprising and hilarious ways. This is the promotional video.

Eiffel Escapade: A Martin and Margaret AdventureDevisor

From The Adventures of Martin and Margaret comes the next harrowing tale of daredevil escapes and true romance.  After having been captured by the infamous Mr. X, Martin and Margaret struggle to escape from imminent danger high atop the Eiffel Tower.  Will they make it in time to save the Professor and recover the deadly Gamma-Heat-Ray Gun?  Tune in!  Written and performed by Mike Long and Amaree Cluff.

 

Three Ideal MenDevisor

is a performance piece that combines live action with video to explore masculinity in the digital age.  This clip is the video portion of that larger work.  Devised by Brad Fraizer, Christopher Murray, Mike Long, and Mitch Voss.

The Van Trunk Family Players Present: The Ransom of Red Chief, Devisor and Adaptor

Adapted by Mike Long from the O. Henry short story.

Mike Long is an actor, educator, and deviser of theatre.  As an actor, he has appeared at theatres around the US in performances ranging from Shakespeare to Ibsen to contemporary Musical Theatre and holds an MFA in Acting from the University of Virginia.  

He currently teaches acting and theatre at the American University of Sharjah.

Other recent projects include acting in Middletown at the Heritage Theatre Festival, directing Nice Work If You Can Get It and The Liar at Live Arts, and staging the first production of The Swiss Swap: A Martin and Margaret Adventure, a full-length adventure farce that he co-wrote with collaborator Amaree Cluff.  The script was awarded the University of Virginia's Clay E. Delauney Memorial Award for Excellence in Playwriting and has subsequently been produced by several other theatres.
